Exhibition, This Too Shall Pass, blackShed Gallery

The free exhibition is the first of what will be a series of INVITED concept shows, in which artists who have already exhibited at blackShed select a new artist each to show alongside them in a themed exhibition.
This one curated by Rob Sample, opens on Saturday 17th May, 2-4pm,  and began with 4 ‘founding’ blackShed artists; people who were there at the very beginning of the gallery’s inception, these are Alan Rankle, Oska Lappin, Rob Sample and Chris Milton. They have invited artists Patrick Altes, Barrie Suddons, Debbie Antotowicz, Sarah Evens and Matt Hardman.

This Too Shall Pass is a proverb that speaks to a human sense of impermanence and the knowledge that whatever is happening in the present, be it positive or negative, will pass like everything else. Perhaps comforting in these times?!

The work will range from painting to ceramic to outdoor sculpture, all exploring the theme in a unique way…
