CHARTWELL RAP ON TOUR

National Trust coffee and bakes on arrival at Chartwell, followed by a seated talk. Self-guided tour of the house and plenty of time to explore the gardens and Winston’s Studio after lunch.

Join us for an artistic perspective on one of the 20th century’s most influential figures, Sir Winston Churchill. Escape the everyday and step into Winston’s captivating world, his beloved Chartwell House and Garden. Beyond the iconic political figure, Churchill was a passionate and prolific artist. This tour will explore his artistic side, with an expert talk on arrival and then examining his original paintings scattered throughout the house and studio. Our speaker will share insights into Churchill’s painting techniques and the personal stories behind his favorite pieces.

Chartwell isn’t just a historical home; it’s a journey into the mind of a leader who found solace, joy, and a different kind of purpose in art. Stroll through the very gardens that inspired his landscapes, and gain a deeper understanding of the man behind the momentous speeches through the canvas and brushstrokes he left behind.

As always with RAP on Tour events, there are limited tickets available. Estimated cost: for National Trust members £30, others £50.
